Community Foundation Silicon Valley is one of the fastest-growing community foundations in the US, with assets of more than $600 million US. Their website contains information on the Foundation’s initiatives, grants and programs.
Kenya Community Development Foundation (Kenya)

The first Kenyan community foundation, KCDF aims to effectively mobilise resources for building permanent funds for grant making towards the development of communities.
Nebraska Community Foundation (US)

Jeffrey Yost, Vice-President of the Nebraska Community Foundation, spoke at a Philanthropy Australia forum in April 2000. Community development is a special focus of this site, which includes plenty of information on the Foundation’s operations and success stories of gifts and bequests which have given life to small rural communities.

The Community Foundation Network is a membership organisation for UK community foundations. The website contains news from the UK of interest for community foundations, as well as links to CFN’s members.
Community Foundations Institute

Housed within the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University, the Community Foundations Institute is intended to develop as a comprehensive resource for research, training, and education in the community foundation field. The website includes the full text of the ‘Community Foundation Competency Guide’, which is based on the US Standards for Community Foundations and intended as an orientation guide for new community foundation staff members, as well as a refresher for experienced staff in the field. Although still under development as the Institute has only just been implemented, the website is expected to eventually contain a resource database and library for community foundation staff and board members around the world.

Community Foundations of America was formed in December 1999 to provide products and services especially to community foundations. Their website is fairly small but includes links of interest as well as some information about the organisation’s board members.

Council of Michigan Foundations

The Council of Michigan Foundations is an association of grantmakers in the Michigan area. Their website has some interesting tools and publications for community foundations, including a section on Minimum Standards for Michigan Community Foundations which contains some sample documents on governance, guidance, communications and other important aspects of community foundation operations. Checklists of important questions for community foundations to consider are also included. Among the downloadable publications are Community Foundations Serving Rural Areas, Growing Community Foundations as Environmental Stewards and Businesses Partnering with Community Foundations.

WINGS - CF - Compendium of Resource Materials for Community Foundations

The WINGS website presents the WINGS network and secretariat. Materials and information is marked with tags for Community Foundations and for Corporate Initiative. Visitors to the network section will be able to view profiles and contacts in the network and arrange listings according to constituent groups, organisation type, region and countries in which they provide services. The Programmes and events section presents WINGS’ services and programmes in a systemised fashion. The Information and Resources heading assembles the collections and links from the previous websites (particularly the WINGS-CF Compendium and the WINGS resources).
