Other cities and regions of Australia are also in the process of conducting and finalising feasibility studies, such as the Central Eyre Peninsula - Le Hunte (Wudinna, SA), Loxton/Waikerie, Noosa, Toowoomba, Outback Regional Trust, Whittlesea (VIC), Wangaratta & district (VIC), Southern Fleurieu Peninsula (Victor Harbor, SA) and Marrickville (Sydney) to determine if they can support and benefit by establishing a Community Foundation in their area.

The Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal has played a major role as catalyst for the development of foundations in giving financial support for feasibility studies to 12 regions, Bruce Rock WA, Keith SA, Bendigo and Central Victoria, Eastern Victoria, Tumut and Northern Rivers in NSW, Townsville QLD, Peel Valley WA, Barossa Light SA, Eyre Peninsula SA, Buderim QLD, and Burra SA.

FRRR has also supported the work of the following 10 foundations: Chaffey in Mildura, Bendigo and Central Victoria, Ballarat, Geelong, Tomorrow Today in Benalla, Mumbulla at Bega, Wingecarribee at Bowral, Central QLD at Rockhampton and Tasmania.

Philanthropy Australia has supported feasibility studies for Central QLD, Bass Coast, Loxton/Waikerie, South East South Australia, Broken Hill, Albury and Newcastle.
